About Wild Held Items in Pokémon

Wild Hold Rates

When a wild Pokémon spawns in Generation 3 onwards, it has a designated percentage chance to hold an item. Standard wild hold rates fall into tiers: 100% (guaranteed), 50% (common), 5% (uncommon), and 1% (rare).

Farming Items in Battle

Abilities such as Compound Eyes increase the probability of encountering wild held items (boosting 50% to 60%, and 5% to 20%). Moves like Thief, Covet, and Trick allow players to take the wild Pokémon's held item directly into their bag.

Version Exclusivity

Many wild held items are only held by Pokémon in specific game releases (e.g. Lucky Egg on wild Chansey in FireRed/LeafGreen, or Oval Stone on wild Happiny in Diamond/Pearl). Filter by version to verify item availability in your playthrough.
